It’s Not Difficult to Learn How to Make a Website for Business or Personal Use
Perhaps you want to learn how to make a website so you can get more customers for your business. Or maybe you just want a personal site where you can post pictures for your friends to look at. Either way, it is necessary to learn how to build a website.
Before you decide how you will go about building your website, you should look at the various options available. If you want to go the easy route, try starting a blog. That’s a special type of website that is usually used by people who want to post information frequently, but that doesn’t mean you have to. You can set up a blog to work like a regular website pretty easily.
When you set up a blog, you are using a platform that has been designed especially for that purpose. The software does most of the work so you don’t have to. There is no coding required and you can easily change the look of the entire blog just by changing the theme. There are free services online such as Blogger and WordPress that will host your blog for you. You can also purchase a domain name and hosting package and set up WordPress on your own domain if you prefer.
For a more traditional type of website, you can get an HTML editor that uses a WYSIWYG interface to design your site. The WYSIWYG editor will allow you to see exactly what your webpage will look like right in the editing program. That way, you can tweak it to get it just right before you publish your website to the Internet. Download a few WYSIWYG editors and test them before deciding which one to use for your site. Some are much easier to use than others.
On the other hand, if you really want to get into the nitty-gritty and do the coding yourself, you can do that too. Most WYSIWYG editors also have a tab you can click on to view and edit the HTML code. Using one of these editing programs allows you to switch back and forth to see what the page looks like as you make changes to the code.
There are free HTML editors available online. It’s pretty easy to find them; just do a search and see what comes up. Your hosting package might also come with website templates, depending on which hosting company you use. If for some reason you don’t want an HTML editor or can’t find one you like, all you really need to write HTML code is a text editor such as Notepad. However, this option will not allow you to see what your pages look like before uploading them to your server.
For someone who is new to website design, setting up a blog is probably the easiest way to get started. Using a template or WYSIWYG editor is not difficult, but will take more time to learn than most blogging platforms. Of course, the easiest way of all is to hire an actual website designer to make your website. That’s probably the best option of all unless you just can’t afford to do it. When you hire a professional, you’ll end up with a site that looks, well, professional.
